Severn Trent

Financial Results Video

Communicating financial results internally is rarely engaging.

For Severn Trent, the challenge was to deliver important business updates in a way that employees would actively watch and connect with.

To achieve this, White Video worked closely with Severn Trent’s leadership team to create a series of financial results videos hosted by CEO Liv Garfield, designed to bring energy, clarity and engagement to internal communications.

The Brief.

Severn Trent needed a more engaging way to communicate financial results to employees and stakeholders across the business.

Traditional formats often struggle to hold attention, particularly when delivering detailed or complex information.

The aim was to create a leadership communication format that felt more dynamic, accessible and reflective of the organisation, while still clearly communicating key business updates.

Our Approach.

Rather than filming a static, studio-based update, the concept was built around movement and real environments.

Each financial results video featured Liv Garfield on location across multiple Severn Trent sites, including water and waste treatment facilities. By stepping outside the boardroom and into operational environments, the content felt more connected to the business and the people within it.

Liv’s natural delivery, combined with participation in light physical activities, helped create a more engaging and relatable style of leadership communication, setting the approach apart from more traditional corporate updates.

Production.

Filming took place across a range of Severn Trent locations, requiring a mobile and flexible production setup.

A compact crew was used to capture high-quality footage while moving between sites, carrying a streamlined kit that allowed for fast setup without compromising production standards.

A key requirement of the project was timing. Each video was filmed the day before the financial results announcement, ensuring that all figures and messaging were fully up to date.

This created a tight turnaround, with filming and post-production completed within the same day so the final video could be reviewed and signed off in time for the live broadcast the following morning.

The video content was then integrated into a wider live broadcast, opening the financial results presentation before transitioning into a live, interactive session with leadership.

The Result.

The final videos transformed how financial results were communicated across Severn Trent.

By combining leadership messaging with real environments and a more dynamic delivery style, the content increased engagement and helped ensure key messages were understood across the organisation.

Each video set the tone for the wider financial results broadcast, leading into a live session where employees could join, ask questions and engage directly with leadership.

This approach has become a consistent format for Severn Trent’s financial communications, demonstrating how leadership communication video production can turn traditionally static updates into content employees actively watch and engage with.
